October 4th: Bach & Wine — a baroque music evening with August Krepak
On October 4th, Cellist August Krepak, who performed to two sold-out audiences in Cyprus this winter, returns to the island for one special, intimate evening to fill the olive-covered hills around Villa Kerkyra with the sounds of baroque music. And we’ll pair music with wine (unusual, isn’t it?): German Rieslings with Bach, and the finest Italian reds with Italian composers. I’ll prepare a signature menu of elegant bites to accompany the wines, and we’ll enjoy it all in a festive setting.
October 11th: Vera Polozkova poetry evening at the Villa Kerkyra
On October 11, poet Vera Polozkova—whose work I fell in love with even before I learned how to cook—will visit. Her poetry, grounded and essential, will be complemented by the symbolic act of baking bread together with local bakers in the garden’s wood-fired oven. We’ll enjoy it with a variety of dips around the culinary island and share heartfelt conversations over champagne at sunset, surrounded by the glow of a hundred candles.
October 8th: “All Senses” experience — a day to reawaken every sense
And on October 18, Azat Tukaev (DJ Ozzee), who creates the sound design for all events at Villa Kerkyra and with whom we first dreamed of this project a year ago, will present his exclusive musical experience “Sounds That Don’t Exist.” At sunset, we’ll meditate to the imagined voices of birds—those that have vanished from our planet, and those that never existed at all.
This moment will become the culmination of our one-day retreat All Senses—a full day devoted to body and soul. We’ll begin the morning with a yoga session led by certified teacher, biochemist, nutritionist, and coach Marta Chorna, who has been guiding people for over 12 years. For lunch, you’ll cook a healthy menu with me during a masterclass, sip herbal tea from the garden, and rest on the villa’s quiet terraces.
